The Practical Violet offers Organizing and Functional Support for those who are feeling overwhelmed.


Marisa holds a B.A. in English and a Minor in Human Conflict Studies from Birmingham-Southern College. She has worked in Education, Direct Care, and Nonprofit, where she has worked in Recovery and with those experiencing Homelessness, and LGBTQ+ & Disability Rights.Marisa believes that everyone deserves to live in a safe, comfortable, and functional home. Sometimes we need support from others to make this a reality, and we all deserve to be treated with dignity while receiving that help.Marisa uses supportive and collaborative techniques to encourage clients to reach their home goals, whether they need accountability, emotional support, or just physical assistance making those changes.Marisa is non-judgmental and supportive, working to meet clients where they are and remain rooted in her own experience with depression, anxiety, and ADHD.
